Tech, life, and business — with a side of snark

Reality.exe is where technology stops being a shiny press release and starts being part of the real world. It’s about the way tech shapes how we work, how we live, and how we screw things up along the way.

This isn’t hype-driven cheerleading. It’s not doomposting, either. Think of it as a conversation over a beer or coffee: equal parts smart, blunt, and (hopefully) entertaining.

Who’s behind it?

I’m Joseph M. Jones, a long-time technologist and consultant who’s been around enough projects, products, and corporate chaos to know the difference between buzzwords and real-world results.

The goal? To make sense of where tech actually intersects with business and everyday life — without boring you to death or talking down to you.

Pull up a chair. Crack a beer. Sip a coffee. Let’s talk about the reality behind the .exe.

What you get

  • Free subscribers get posts whenever something interesting, ridiculous, or both happens (which is often).

  • Paid subscribers get everything I write, plus the ability to actually join the conversation instead of just lurking.

  • Root Access (founding members) get permanent OG status and my gratitude — along with probably too many caffeine-fueled call-outs.

Why this exists

The tech industry needs more honest conversations about what’s really happening versus what marketing departments want us to believe. I’m not here to sell you on the future or convince you the latest trend will solve everything.

I’m here to make sense of where technology collides with reality — and document the wreckage.

If you want unfiltered tech analysis with a dose of snark, you’re in the right place. If you’d rather be told everything’s “revolutionary” and “transformational,” there are about ten thousand other newsletters for that.

Reality.exe runs on caffeine and reader support. If you want to keep getting unfiltered tech commentary that calls BS on industry hype, consider subscribing. Free gets you the regular posts. Paid gets you everything plus the ability to actually join the conversation. Either way, you’re helping keep this thing running.
